We are currently working on the implementation of the following projects:
- Cooperation with the Bundesverband Materialwirtschaft, Einkauf und Logistik (BME) in the field of sustainable procurement, which includes the following:
- the development of a certification system for sustainable procurement,
- the conception design of the Sustainability Summit,
- knowledge transfer on the UN sustainability objectives/SDGs.
- Establishment and development of a course of studies for sustainable hotel management at the Hotel School in Marrakech / Morocco
- Set up of an educational training focusing on sustainability for the hospitality industry

Checklist sustainable procurement

Concept for Sustainable and Ecological Management in the Hospitality Industry for Trainees in Baden-Württemberg
In order to anchor sustainable management in companies and society, it is important to establish this competence as part of every professional training. In this project it is our goal to contribute to the transformation process of sustainable development in the hospitality industry by imparting knowledge and incorporating the 17 UN sustainability goals. The concept includes for four workshops over one year as part of the apprenticeship and is currently being implemented in the second year with various partners (ECOINN, Burg Staufeneck, Boutiquehotel LA CASA, Hirsch HotelbetriebsGmbH, Luchterhand Bio Catering).
The project was started in 2017, on the initiative of Thomas Puchan, the manager of Europe’s most ecological hotel, in cooperation with the Bundesverband der grünen Wirtschaft, UnternehmensGrün e.V. and supported by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Environment. Starting in 2018, Prof. Dr. Sandra Rochnowski from the JARO Institute took over the scientific part of the organisation, Thomas Puchan will continue to be responsible for the practical part.
